Brian Maltbie has his Masters in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelors in Psychology. Brian is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and has had experience in a preschool setting as well as support staff for Cornerstone Counseling prior to joining the Foundations Counseling team. Brian’s style and technique best match with young adults who are navigating the ever-changing progressions of life and learning to manage adjusting to new circumstances. He also works well with individuals who struggle with anxiety and depression to help encourage motivation and finding meaning. By utilizing humor to create a peaceful and easy-going environment, Brian also utilizes therapy methods such as Motivational Interviewing, Existential Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, Person-centered techniques, and interventions to guide clients through progress.

Brian’s passion for counseling and providing others with the help they need to be their very best comes from his general interest in personality and how it is formed and changes throughout life in individuals. He is also a generally curious person who appreciates discovering why people act the way they act and working with them to overcome obstacles in their lives.

Having a passion for games, Brian enjoys playing and learning new board games and billiards, specifically 8-ball. Brian enjoys listening to podcasts and would suggest the Hidden Brain Podcast which focuses on exploring the unconscious patterns that drive human behavior. He also loves spending time with friends and family, Brian is a triplet and has both a brother and a sister.

Brian has a wide variety of types of clients he enjoys working with and looks forward to providing guidance and therapies for new clients. Call the Foundations Counseling office schedule your first session with Brian today. (513) 785-4895
