Get to Know Flora
Flora is passionate about walking alongside individuals and couples as they navigate life’s most challenging relational and emotional struggles. As a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her master’s degree from Liberty University in August 2025, she brings over 27 years of public sector experience and a deeply personal understanding of human need to her therapeutic work.
Flora’s journey into counseling was born from firsthand exposure to the struggles people face in everyday life. During her extensive career with the Butler County Clerk of Courts, she witnessed countless individuals dealing with relationship breakdowns, legal stressors and personal crises. This front-row seat to human suffering ignited a calling: to provide professional support and healing to those who needed it most. Her transition from public service to counseling reflects her lifelong commitment to serving her community in meaningful ways.
Specializing in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) assessment tools, Flora works primarily with women and couples facing hurting relationships. Her therapeutic approach blends Rogerian person-centered therapy with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), creating a warm, collaborative space where clients feel genuinely heard while also gaining practical tools for lasting change. She understands relationship issues and grief from personal experience, having navigated both at a young age, which allows her to connect with clients on a deeply authentic level.
As the youngest of eleven children, Flora learned early on about the complexities of family dynamics, communication and the importance of finding your voice within relationships. These formative experiences, combined with her professional training and years of public service, give her a unique perspective on how past experiences shape present struggles and future possibilities.
Outside of her counseling practice, Flora is a creative and community-minded soul. She loves shopping, coordinating galas, organizing fashion shows and planning community events that bring people together. Currently she’s diving into books that explore trauma and healing, including “What Happened to You?” by Dr. Bruce Perry and Oprah Winfrey and “The Body Keeps the Score,” deepening her understanding of how our bodies and minds process difficult experiences.
Flora believes that healing is possible for everyone, and she’s honored to provide a safe, compassionate space where clients can process pain, rebuild relationships and rediscover hope. Whether you’re struggling with grief, navigating a difficult relationship or seeking to understand yourself better, Flora is ready to walk alongside you with empathy, expertise and unwavering support.
