Get to Know Katie

Katie Ditchen, a dedicated therapist, holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Katie’s career transitioned from Corporate Human Resources in a large healthcare organization in Cincinnati. She also has experience as an outpatient therapist.

With a diverse background, including a year at IRKON Corporation as a counselor trainee, Katie’s therapeutic specialties encompass stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, low self-esteem, bipolar and related disorders, anger management, addiction, relationships, grief, loss, co-dependency, and borderline personality disorder. Her approach is person-centered and emotion-focused, aiming to understand clients’ experiences and identify thought patterns to interrupt unhelpful behaviors.

Katie’s passion for counseling stems from her desire to guide individuals through healing and growth, recognizing that change can be both rewarding and challenging. She specializes in working with adults aged 18 and older, fostering a supportive environment for personal transformation.

Outside of counseling, Katie enjoys spending time with her son, extended family, and friends. An avid traveler, she finds joy in exploring new destinations, having visited four continents so far. Katie also prioritizes self-care through activities like taking walks and guided meditation, sometimes combining the two for an enhanced experience.

In her quest for continued learning and professional development, Katie listens to therapy podcasts such as Esther Perel’s “Where Should We Begin” and Vienna Pharaon’s “This Keeps Happening.” Her commitment to personal growth and holistic well-being reflects her dedication to guiding others on their own paths to healing and fulfillment.
