Get to Know Lydia

Lydia Egan is a graduate of Ball State University with a bachelor’s in Child Development and Family Studies and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Cincinnati. She has experience working as a Mental Health Counselor at the Center for Addiction Treatment and working at Sunrise Treatment Center as a Substance Use Counselor. Lydia specializes in treating both substance use conditions and mental health issues and has experience treating various mental health diagnoses, including anxiety and depression. She would be the best fit for clients coming to terms with needing help and ready to grow and make choices to better their lives.

Lydia approaches each client uniquely, knowing that a similar diagnosis does not always mean similar treatment plans. A patient diagnosed with depression or anxiety may experience it differently than another patient. She gets to know her clients and understands their unique mindsets, past, and cultural experiences.

After using counseling as a teenager, Lydia found a passion for therapy. Lydia went to undergrad to learn more about the family system and child development, planning to pursue a degree in child psychology. After learning more about the field, she decided to attend graduate school for mental health counseling. However, she enjoys focusing on women’s issues and helping adolescents and children.

During her downtime, Lydia can be found traveling, cuddling with her two cats, Apollo and Calvin, and planning game nights with her friends. Lydia also served as a nanny while attending college and truly enjoys time spent with children and connecting with them through play and time spent together.

Lydia is accepting new patients and looks forward to using her counseling skills and expertise to help others become their best selves. To schedule your first session with Lydia, call Foundations Counseling. (513) 785-4895.
