Meet Our Therapists
Get to Know Stephanie
Stephanie brings a unique blend of educational experience and therapeutic training to her work at Foundations Counseling. Currently pursuing her Master’s degree at Wright State University (graduating 2026), she holds a Counselor Trainee license and draws from 13 years of teaching experience across preschool through high school settings.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Education (2004) and extensive classroom experience, Stephanie naturally transitioned into counseling after recognizing her gift for supporting others through difficult times. “I was the teacher that all the students came to with their problems,” she reflects. “When I moved out of teaching, I realized I was still the person people came to when they needed someone to listen.”
Stephanie utilizes a person-centered, strengths-based approach, focusing on helping clients develop practical skills to navigate everyday challenges. Her methodology emphasizes meeting clients where they are and building upon their inherent strengths. Her specialties focus on therapy for children, teens and adults, parents of children with special needs, Neurodivergence, particularly ADHD support and specialized training on Play Therapy Techniques.
Beyond her professional qualifications, Stephanie brings authentic life experience to her practice. She’s been volunteering with Girl Scouts for six years and even became a certified lifeguard to help at Girl Scout camp. Her creative side shines through various crafts including cake decorating, crochet, diamond art painting, sewing, and using her Cricut for custom projects.
As a self-described “theatre nerd,” Stephanie previously directed school plays and maintains her passion for the arts. She stays current with neurodivergence research, recently reading Autism in Heels by Jennifer Cook O’Toole, though she admits most of her reading these days involves textbooks.
Stephanie’s combination of educational expertise, specialized training in neurodivergence and play therapy, and warm, relatable personality makes her particularly effective with clients seeking practical support in a comfortable, understanding environment.
