Get to Know Tricia
Tricia is passionate about walking alongside individuals as they discover their strengths and embrace their authentic selves. As a Counselor Trainee currently pursuing her master’s degree in clinical counseling at the University of the Cumberlands, she brings a rich tapestry of cross-cultural experience and educational expertise to her work. With nine years of teaching elementary students—including those with special needs—and five years serving a church community in Japan while training ministry leaders, Tricia has developed a deep understanding of how to support people through both everyday challenges and life-altering transitions.
Holding a bachelor’s degree in Ministry and Leadership, Tricia integrates a holistic, trauma-informed perspective into her counseling approach. Currently serving as a mental health specialist at a local middle school, she works daily with students navigating behavioral challenges, anxiety, depression, and the complexities of adolescence. Her experience spans working with children, teens, and adults facing grief and loss, faith-based concerns, religious trauma, and school-related difficulties.
Tricia’s journey into counseling began with her own story of healing. After returning from Japan, she faced grief and trauma that felt overwhelming—and working with a counselor not only helped her heal but sparked a calling. She realized her greatest joy in teaching came not from academic instruction, but from helping students grow emotionally and building meaningful relationships. This combination of personal experience and professional insight gave her the courage to follow her passion into counseling, where she could offer others the same compassionate support that transformed her own life.
Her therapeutic approach is collaborative and client-focused, integrating trauma-informed care, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused strategies. Tricia helps clients identify their strengths, navigate challenges, and develop practical skills for daily life. She believes that everyone deserves a compassionate space to explore their struggles, build resilience, and create meaningful change—and she’s honored to provide that space.
Outside of counseling, Tricia is an adventurous spirit with deep roots in New Hampshire and a love for all things Boston—especially time spent with her nieces and nephew. She enjoys exploring new cultures through travel, staying grounded in nature (particularly if water is involved—scuba diving and snorkeling are favorites), and creative pursuits. Her cat Bella is a faithful companion and excellent road trip co-pilot on visits back to New England. When she’s not traveling, you’ll find Tricia enjoying time with friends, trying new creative outlets, or curled up with Bella and a good book.
Walking alongside others through life’s challenges and empowering them to live authentically is one of Tricia’s greatest joys. She believes every person holds unique strengths and untapped potential—and she’s committed to helping others discover both.
